Kawakawa Home Invasion

Kawakawa Police are currently investigating a home invasion and robbery.

The incident occurred between 7.00 and 8.00 pm on the evening of Tuesday May 6 2008.

A doctor from Bay of Islands Hospital was confronted at her residence near the hospital by an offender who beat and robbed her of a small amount of money.

Police are seeking the help of the public in identifying the person who has committed this crime.

The offender is described as a male Maori or Polynesian, aged 15-20 years, of thin build, approximately 175cms tall, with a short possibly number 2 haircut, wearing a dark coloured hooded jacket, and dark coloured pants.

At one point the offender has had a gold or tan coloured dog with him on a lead.

This person has been seen in the vicinity of the Bay of Islands Hospital during Tuesday evening.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have seen or know the person described.
