Young Labour to make splash at Winter Fest

Young Labour is hitting the Queenstown Winter Festival this weekend where they plan to take part in the winter festivities and connect with young people.

"Young Labour is keen to be a vibrant force in the events", said Ella Hardy, the southern regional representative for Young Labour. "We will be there to talk and get the feel of the local electorate. Queenstown is a unique place, a youthful town and at the moment not enough young people are informed about the upcoming election"

"We want to show the electorate of Queenstown how vibrant the future is with Labour", Young Labour President Eric Goddard said. "With the election fast approaching, we need to encourage young people to enroll to vote."

Young Labour supports the local Labour Candidates Don Pryde for Clutha-Southland and Mahara Okeroa for Te Tai Tonga and will be talking to young people in Queenstown on their behalf.

The Young Labour representatives will take part in the Bird Man competition where they will plunge a "Slippery Key Policy Craft" into the icy waters of Wakatipu as a demonstration of how hollow the National Party is and to demonstrate how their policies will plunge and sink New Zealand.

Young Labour will also mission onto the ski fields talking to young people, attend market days and parades as well as taking part in activities like frisbee golf. "We all should have a lot of fun", Mr. Goddard said.
