Napier: Police pursuit

Police and the Independent Police Conduct Authority are investigating the circumstances surrounding a lengthy Police pursuit in Napier at approximately 9.30pm on Monday night.

The pursued vehicle crashed into a tree on Marine Parade, after Police attempted to stop the vehicle to speak with the 35yr old male driver regarding a domestic-related incident at an address in Napier. The pursuit lasted approximately 15 minutes.

The driver did not receive serious injuries, however he was taken to hospital as a precaution after the crash. He will be facing driving charges.
