Sign On volunteers have been out after dark raising the profile of the campaign by plastering iconic Wellington statues with blue casts - a reference to when John Key broke his arm at the beginning of the year.

"When John Key broke his arm, many local and world leaders signed his blue cast. We need that kind of collaboration now on climate change," said Sign On volunteer Jessie Dennis.

Each cast was embossed with "C'mon John, Sign On."
