Statement By Chair Of Te Kauhanganui

Statement By Chair Of Te Kauhanganui

The Chair of Te Kauhanganui, Mrs Tania Martin, has received advice from the Secretary of Te Arataura that a formal response to her notice of dispute is being prepared.*

“Te Kauhanganui is due to meet again on 28 August 2011 and it is important for the conduct of that meeting that the current dispute is resolved as soon as possible”, Mrs Martin said. *

Mrs Martin said that she would consider Te Arataura’s formal response before deciding what further action to take, but central to the matters for discussion is the concern of Elected Members that Te Arataura has been acting contrary to their clearly stated resolutions. *

“I look forward to agreeing on a sustainable way forward in which all parties can work together for the betterment of Waikato-Tainui”, Mrs Martin said.*
