The Rugby Channel Supports New Anti-Violence Campaign

The Rugby Channel (SKY channel 037) is proud to be a major supporter of a new national, community-driven Family violence campaign Blow The Whistle.

Rugby Centre regulars Melodie Robinson, Josh Kronfeld and cricketer Peter McGlashan are among the well known sports personalities lending their images, energy and time to spreading the message encouraging people to ask for help if they are living with violence.

The Blow The Whistle initiative has been launched in eleven Rugby Unions around New Zealand, and local communities are being encouraged to support the campaign.

Nationally, rugby clubs, bars and restaurants are supporting the campaign with posters and coasters and as part of the initiative, almost 40 thousand whistles will be given away after ITM Cup and Heartland games across the country.

Executive Producer of The Rugby Channel Marty Crowe says The Rugby Channel is delighted to back such an important initiative.

“We made the decision to support the Blow The Whistle campaign because our people around the country live in these communities and we’re committed to making a difference not just on the rugby field, but off it as well.”

“When it comes to rugby, we all know it starts at the grassroots. A solid foundation means a solid future, and I believe it’s the same for our families.”

“The Rugby Channel is the only place to view our national game from College Rugby to All Black Test Matches from one end of New Zealand to the other.
