Locked out workers unanimously reject new offer

Locked out meat workers have unanimously rejected a new offer from ANZCO.

ANZCO locked out over 100 New Zealand Meat Workers Union (NZMWU) members from their CMP Rangitikei sheep plant 23 days ago.

NZMWU negotiator Roger Middlemass says union members met today to vote on the company's new offer.

“ANZCO are now offering a one off payment of $500,” he says. “They still want 15-20% pay cuts, shift changes and reductions in allowance.”

"Workers are insulted but resolute and their confidence remains high."

Workers will continue picketing tomorrow morning from 5am on State Highway 1, near Marton.
