Show your support for West Papua

Show your support for West Papua

On Wednesday, 22 August, join us to show your support for the people of West Papua, from 12 noon to 1pm at Lush Cosmetics in Wellington: Shop LG1, Old Bank Building, Lambton Quay (near the Willis Street end).

From 20 to 26 August, Lush Cosmetics will be promoting awareness about West Papua in their shops - the Morning Star flag will be displayed and a petition to Prime Minister John Key will be available for signature. The petition urges the government to call for the release of all political prisoners in West Papua, for free and open access to West Papua for international journalists and humanitarian workers, and to offer help to facilitate dialogue between West Papuan representatives and the Indonesian government.

The support gathering in Wellington is organised by West Papua Wellington Solidarity

For preliminary information about the Lush campaign, see 'Lush plans banned Morning Star flag shop protest for Papuans' at http://pacific.scoop.co.nz/2012/08/lush-plans-banned-morning-star-flag-shop-protest-for-papuans - more information will be available on Monday, 20 August.
