Saturday 20th July: This week the Auckland Council released its first pre-election report, a new requirement for councils under the Local Government Act. The report must be politically independent and is prepared by the council's chief executive. We thought it timely that Maori provide their own report card. Eruera Morgan talks with the chair of the Mana Whenua Selection Body for the Auckland Independent Maor Statutory Board, Tame Te Rangi, about how the council is responding to the needs of Maori communities in Tamaki Makaurau.

Sunday 21st July: Also this week, Social Development Minister Paula Bennet was in Kaitaia talking with iwi leaders about the Te Rarawa social accord. We talk with Te Rarawa chair Hami Piripi about the accord and about Minister Bennett’s welfare reforms which came into force last Monday.

Korero Mai Ki Ahau a half hour features programme every Saturday and Sunday from noon, which takes an in – depth look at issues affecting te ao Maori. Totally in te reo Maori brought to you by Waatea News in association with Te Mangai Paho.
