Can you ever tell if an email is real or forged?

Dirty Politics -can you ever tell if an email is real or forged?

Computer industry veteran Brian Eardley-Wilmot warns that we should never take claims about stolen emails at face value.

Eardley-Wilmot first brought Apple and Microsoft to New Zealand. He now runs expert data recovery and forensic investigation company Computer Forensics NZ Ltd.

He says:-"New Zealanders have been hugely excited about the reported emails in Nicky Hager’s book Dirty Politics in recent weeks.

Much has also been made of other emails(?) that have surfaced.
It seems the media, as well as the public, have, almost without exception, accepted that these emails must all be real and true, and actually come from where stated.

How absolutely extraordinary!

It is relatively simple to spoof either a sender's email address or the 'from' address. Just ask Google. There is even a Wikipedia article on it how easy it is to spoof emails.

See below.

Myself to be established as President-for-Life.

I look forward to your comments.

Cheers,

Win
