Working people deserve an apology from Bill English

Working people deserve an apology from Bill English

The Council of Trade Unions says that Deputy Leader of the National Party, Bill English needs to apologise to working people after his reprehensible comments made about working people being useless.

The comments were made by the Deputy Leader at a meeting with Federated Farmers which Labour MP Iain Lees-Galloway was also attending.

“Working people are the lifeblood of our country. English’s comments are clearly ridiculous and he should apologise. It was a foolish thing to say and shows a lack of understanding about working people and their lives by the Deputy Leader,

“His comments encourage farmers to have poor attitudes and relationships with farm workers,

“Kiwi workers are internationally renowned for their hard work and dedication. We deserve respect. We deserve an apology,” Wagstaff said.
