Have your say on local fishery consultation

As part of the current public consultation on options for both the Southern Scallop fishery (SCA7) and the Snapper 7 fishery, local people are invited to have their say at a series of drop-in sessions.

MPI fisheries management staff will be running sessions on:

• Thursday 23 June in Blenheim

• Monday 27 June in Nelson

• Tuesday 28 June in Motueka

• Wednesday 29 June in Takaka.

The sessions are a chance to explain what the options are for these 2 fisheries that ensure the long-term sustainability and access for all.

Dave Turner, MPI director of fisheries management said: “These are both important fisheries and MPI is committed to actively engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that all views are considered.”
