Tamati Coffey selected as Labour’s 2017 candidate in the Waiariki electorate

Tamati Coffey has been selected as the Waiariki Labour Party candidate in the 2017 General Election.

“I am honoured to be Labour’s candidate for the 2017 election and I look forward to representing all our people in Waiariki electorate,” said Tamati Coffey.

“Tamati has proven himself to be an outstanding campaigner with an incredible ability to connect with Rangatahi and he will be a great candidate for Waiariki,” said Opposition Leader Andrew Little.

And Kelvin Davis MP, Labour’s spokesperson on Maori development, said “Tamati is steeped in the issues of Rotorua and the wider Waiariki electorate. He will be a super candidate to win this last Māori seat back to Labour”.

Labour General Secretary, Andrew Kirton, said: “Tamati joins our growing list of energetic, fresh candidates who will stand for Labour in 2017. Our focus is on electing a strong, Labour-led government next year that will back the Kiwi Dream and help every New Zealander get ahead.”
