Ban1080 Political Party Annual General Meeting
May 22nd 2017
Press Release.
The Ban1080 Political Party
held it’s Annual General Meeting at the Bushman’s Centre
in Pukekura in South Westland on Saturday 20th May.
The
meeting was well attended, an Executive Committee of Mary
Molloy, Peter Salter, Jim Hilton, Bill Wallace, Carol Sawyer
and Clyde Graf was elected.
The Party is now calling for
nominations for candidates for it’s Party List for the
2017 General Election.
The members present wanted the
Party to continue, as no other Party has a comprehensive ban
on the aerial dropping of the poison 1080 as its priority.
The executive committee also added that humane, targeted
animal control, and poison-free waterways are important
outcomes for New Zealand, that no other political party is
pursuing.
It was heartening that DoC’s own surveys
show that the percentage of the population finding aerial
1080 unacceptable has increased from 43% to 61% over the
past decade.
Following the AGM, the Executive committee
elected Clyde Graf and Bill Wallace as Co Leaders of the
Party.
