Alex Gilbert meets with Children's Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation

The founder of I’m Adopted & Russian-Kiwi Adoptee Alex Gilbert had the chance to meet with Anna Kuznetsova, who is the Children's Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation in Moscow last week.

Over the past few years Alex Gilbert has been covered in various stories for his I’m Adopted project which has now gained the interest with the Russian Government. Alex Gilbert has previously talked in the NZ Parliament at the beginning of 2017. Alex began his journey in 2013 after searching for his Birth Parents in Russia using Social Media. In 2015 he then created the I’m Adopted project which has been helping others around the world connect and many with finding their Birth Parents overseas. Alex Gilbert is based in Auckland.

The Meeting took place in the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

Alex talked about the I’m Adopted project and shared his own personal story with Anna. Anna was happy to hear about the story and the progress with the project that it has made for Russian Adoptees inside New Zealand. Anna has also offered to assist in anyway possible for the project.

During his time in Russia Alex also met with a Charity which specialises in helping Orphans find families. Alex also spoke at several events in Moscow with Adopted teenagers and parents who had adopted children in Russia.

The Meeting with Anna Kuznetsova was covered on the Russian Children Rights Government Website as well as the Federal State Russian News.
