Burger King workers to strike Saturday and Sunday

Burger King workers to strike Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June.

As strike action continues today Unite Union have just issued another notice of strike action for Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June.

“Not all our members are rostered on a Friday and since we notified members of the strikes for today many only working over the weekend have told us they want to support the campaign for a better agreement as well” said Unite National Secretary Gerard Hehir.

"We will re-assess where we are at on Monday. Since Burger King finally realised we were serious about strike action they have indicated they are ready to make some changes. They weren’t motivated enough to show up for mediation but hopefully their attitude will be different after the weekend.”
