APEC - Costly Conference Closes City

APEC - Costly Conference Closes City

Libertarianz transport deregulation spokesman Michael Murphy today slammed the Prime Minister's proposed closure of Auckland's southern motorway for APEC as "unbelievably arrogant and stupid. This woman appears to confuse Auckland's motorway for the main road to Ashburton!"

"Auckland," says Murphy, "is the great engine of New Zealand commerce and trade, and it is fed by an already overcrowded motorway. To shut down Auckland's commerce so APEC's delegates can enjoy a quiet drive exposes this nonsensical conference for the sham it actually is - several hundred bureaucrats and their political masters expensively waffling about 'free trade' while shutting down the free trade of Auckland city."

"Governments," he says, "should get out of trade, and stay out of trade. You don't need a costly conference closing down our city to work that out!" An angry Murphy advises Jenny Shipley to "forgo the posturing photo-opportunities of APEC, and to piss off back to Wellington where she and her fellow parasites belong."
