Green Forum on Cannabis Policy Auckland Wednesday

GREEN FORUM: Cannabis - Options for Law Reform

Wednesday 1st September 7:30 to 9:30pm FREE Ellen Melville Hall; Cnr High St and Wyndham Place, above D-72 Diner, Central Auckland

The Green Party presents a public forum on cannabis policy. Cannabis use is rising in New Zealand, despite some of the world's toughest law enforcement. Does prohibition minimise the harmful effects of using cannabis, or are there better ways for it to be controlled? What about medical marijuana and hemp?

Cannabis use and cannabis policy are controversial areas that are often surrounded by myth and distorted truths. We invite you to this forum to hear the issues, ask questions, have your say, and make an informed choice this election.

Speakers include:

* Nandor Tanczos, Green Party drug policy spokesperson and candidate for Auckland Central

* Chris Fowlie, spokesperson for the National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML)

* David Jacobs, Labour Party candidate for Epsom

* plus a question and answers session

Wednesday 1st September Ellen Melville Hall Cnr High St and Wyndham Place, above D-72 Diner, Central Auckland 7:30 to 9:30pm FREE

Info line: call organiser Keith Locke on 09 630-0789
