Homemovers Breathe A Sigh Of Relief

HOMEMOVERS BREATHE A SIGH OF RELIEF WITH NEW CHANGEMYADDRESS.CO.NZ AND CHANGEMYADDRESS.COM.AU

Moving home is about to get a whole lot easier thanks to the arrival of the Internet business ChangeMyAddress. Launched on Monday October 9th 2000, ChangeMyAddress aims to become the leading Internet based portal for people wishing to change subscription, membership and account information when moving residencies in New Zealand or Australia.

A free service, ChangeMyAddresss will save the 350, 000 New Zealanders and 1.6 million Australians that move each year time, money and the hassle when informing service providers of their change of address details. For customers the ChangeMyAdress web site will be so simple that neglecting to notify businesses of a new address should be a thing of the past.

With the click of a button movers need spend just 10-20 minutes to complete their new address details and notify all their service providers including financial institutions, mobile telephones, gymnasiums, and Pay TV providers to name but a few.

New Zealand Managing Director, Peter Ryan says “being put on hold by a company for 20 minutes is not a consumers idea of receiving good service. It’s the quickest way to lose a customer and that’s not good business.”

He added “ the proposition is simple – the longer a customer is maintained the greater the profitability of that customer. It is widely believed that it costs five times as much to acquire a customer as it does to keep an existing one.”

Customers are demanding self service solutions which allow them to perform tasks without the delays and errors that often characterise human efforts to provide assistance.

Companies who pay for this service benefit from lower administrative costs and improved accuracy of their client databases as the data is received electronically and consumers directly input all the relevant information.

My Ryan noted that “the web service will help businesses save money on postal data processing and call centre costs which are estimated by experts to be as much as $5.00 per inbound call”.

But businesses stand to gain more than just saving money on administrative costs. Earlier and easier notification by customers of their planned move allows companies to plan ahead to avoid losing customers to competitors or losing them altogether.

Tony Perkins, Managing Director of ChangeMyAddress, Australia, stated “moving house is a life transitional event where consumers are at their most vulnerable to offers form competitor suppliers. ChangeMyAddress will be in a position to service these consumers at a crucial time in a customers-supplier relationship – when that person is moving home.”

He added, “companies now have the opportunity to use the web-site to cross-sell or up sell to new and existing customers. Consumers will be looking forward to seeing exciting money saving offers and new products from these service providers”.

“This is the Internet at it’s best – win-win for the consumer and the service provider – and that doesn’t happen very often these days.”

ChangeMyAddress was established in October last year with New Zealand Funds Management as the major shareholder.
