COGNIX GROUP - A HOMEGROWN COMPANY BUCKS THE TREND

At a time when others are heading offshore, Cognix is bucking the trend and bringing the best of local expertise and international resources to New Zealand.

Cognix Group is a successful New Zealand-based company, which specialises in identifying emerging applications for new generation technologies and providing leading edge IT solutions.

The company which was launched today in Wellington, celebrates the merger between two successful New Zealand-based companies, Ebit New Zealand Ltd and Cognix Ltd.

“The merger recognises our vision to build a New Zealand-based company that has the capabilities and competitive edge to compete globally,” Cognix Group General Manager Alistair Owens said.

“It brings together the intellectual capital and resources of two innovative and result-focused companies who are determined to remain at the head of their industry and benefit New Zealand, as well.”

Cognix Group Managing Director Partha Sarathy said that Cognix values the New Zealand market and recognises the opportunities for growth and investment in the Australasian market.

“Cognix Group already has significant local expertise and an understanding of the dynamics of the New Zealand marketplace.

“We have recently formed an innovative working agreement with major international software company Satyam Computer Services Ltd. This means we will be able to give the best of New Zealand and overseas knowledge and expertise to our clients,” Mr Sarathy said.

Cognix and Satyam have formed an innovative working agreement and are currently working together on building a fourth generation, n-tier web-based billing engine - one of the largest New Zealand initiated product developments in recent years.

Cognix Group is also already delivering a number of significant projects in Australasia and Asia.
