Another Canadian Energy Leader Chooses Peace

Auckland, New Zealand ¡V March 14, 2001 ¡V New Zealand¡¦s Peace Software, a global provider of leading customer management solutions for utility and retail energy companies, today announced that Enbridge Commercial Services, has licensed Peace¡¦s Energy„· software to enhance its operations and customer services for commercial and industrial natural gas markets. Enbridge Commercial Services is a subsidiary of Enbridge Inc. and an affiliate of Enbridge Consumers Gas, Canada¡¦s largest natural gas distributor.

Energy will enable Enbridge Commercial Services to more fully automate contract management and complex billing services to over 6,000 large commercial and industrial gas customers by the latter part of 2001. These customers will gain benefits from customised and consolidated bills for multiple locations, charges and services, as well as wider access to sophisticated consumption data and analysis tools.

The decision to install the Energy system supports the company¡¦s strategic plans for new business development initiatives in Canadian and U.S. deregulating gas markets. One such initiative is the recently formed Enbridge Gas New Brunswick, which will deploy the Energy system to service its customers on completion of the New Brunswick natural gas system.
