Xtra And ACP Join Forces To Launch New Web Site

Xtra, in conjunction with Trader International Group (a subsidiary Australian Consolidated Press) has launched a new channel where New Zealanders can buy, sell and trade vehicles and more online

New Zealanders wanting to trade cars, bikes, boats and industry equipment online can now do so at Xtra’s new Autos and More Channel, which visitors can link through to from Xtra’s homepage http://www.xtra.co.nz.

The Autos and More Channel has sub-channels including cars, bikes, boats and has an industry channel that features equipment and vehicles for farms, forestry, trucking, construction, factory and mining needs.

It has been designed to allow visitors to search for items of interest by make, model, year, price range, region or keyword. People then view a picture of the item, find out details and price and get in touch with the seller (be they a dealer or private vendor) via email or phone.

For example, someone searching for a Toyota car around the $3000 dollar mark would select ‘Toyota’ ‘$0 – 5000’ from the search engine of the Auto sub channel. The site would then list all Toyota cars currently held in that price range. Clicking on the link to the selected car allows the visitor to see a picture and details of the car.

There is also the capacity for advanced searches e.g: people wanting to pay around $15,000-20,000 for a Mazda 626 in the Wellington region can look for exactly that.

Other features include: - Buying and selling tips, like what to look for when test driving or the pros and cons of buying with a dealer or privately - New and used car reviews - A finance calculator to help potential buyers calculate current finance rates; just enter your details and it tells you the level of repayments you can afford - An industry association search - Advice on insurance – basic tips and how to save money on insurance what best suits your circumstances

Business Development Manager of Trader Group Australia & New Zealand, Lee Williams, said “This is a great alliance, bringing the most visited New Zealand Web site and the leading vehicle Web service together. This new relationship will result in even more surfers benefiting from a quality Internet experience.”

Executive Producer of xtra.co.nz, Carolyn McKenzie, said the new channel would fit well with the wide range of expertise Xtra already gives visitors to the site.

“Judging from the successful sales the Trader magazines make we predict this site will be hugely popular. After all it deals in a topic very close to kiwi hearts – their cars!” she said.
