Ruth Richardson To Chair Board Of Syft Technologies

Syft Technologies is pleased to announce that the Hon Ruth Richardson has been invited to chair the board of directors.

Ruth Richardson, who officially joined the board as a director on 1 June, will assume the chairmanship in August, taking the reigns from the interim Chair Peter Cox.

Syft is Ruth Richardson’s third board position with a Canterbury export company and complements her chairmanship of the Jade Software Corporation and directorship of Synlait, an innovative dairy company.

She says, “The common thread of these three companies is that they all seek to excel on a global basis from a Canterbury base. All three are committed to substantial investment in research and development, and while at different business stages, they excite me in their ability to making good the commercial promise of their investment.”

Syft directors and shareholders, Bruce Irvine representing Canterprise, and Andrew Couch of NZX-listed investment company Salvus Strategic Investments Limited, are delighted that Ruth Richardson has accepted the board’s invitation to help them take Syft Technologies to the next level.

“Syft is entering a significant growth phase so we need the strong leadership that Ruth Richardson is capable of delivering,” says Mr Couch.

Bruce Irvine, a Director of Canterprise, the commercial arm of Canterbury University and the largest single shareholder in Syft Technologies, says Ms Richardson’s appointment is a sign of maturity for the business.
