Stardome Welcomes New Board Appointment

Stardome Observatory and Planetarium is pleased to welcome a new trustee to the Auckland Observatory and Planetarium Trust board.

Suzanne Wolton has been appointed to the Stardome board, bringing 24 years’ experience in strategy, finance, corporate affairs and governance. Suzanne is a Chartered Accountant and is the General Manager at AA Life. Her previous experience includes seven years at AA Insurance in executive level roles. She has led the development and successful execution of corporate strategy in complex environments and delivered several large projects and change programmes. Suzanne also has a strong not-for-profit background including membership of the National Executive Committee of Bluelight NZ and is a founding member of the NZ Women’s Lacrosse Association. She has a keen interest in astronomy, astrophysics and space travel and has a large collection of Apollo space programme memorabilia.

“Suzanne’s experience in governance and strategy and her passion for astronomy make her a great fit for the Auckland Observatory and Planetarium Trust board,” says Stardome Chair, Geoff Mason. “We are looking forward to working with her in the leadership and strategic development of Stardome.

“Sarah Stuart has stepped down from the board due to relocation and to focus on her new role in Wellington. We wish her all the best and thank her for her time on the Auckland Observatory and Planetarium Trust board.”
