Kiwi Soccer Fan to Star in 2010 FIFA World Cup

Auckland, November, 2009: - Whether the All Whites win or lose this Saturday, one lucky New Zealander will appear on-field at the World Cup Finals as Sony’s official 2010 FIFA World Cup Flag Bearer.


As an official FIFA partner, Sony will be sending one lucky soccer fan on the trip-of-a lifetime to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The selected Sony Flag Bearer will receive the ultimate prize including flights to South Africa, accommodation, sightseeing throughout their stay, brand new Sony products to use on their trip, and of course the coveted opportunity to carry the FIFA Flag on to the official World Cup pitch as the New Zealand representative.


“This will be an amazing opportunity for the recipient who will get to witness the world’s largest and greatest single sporting event first hand, “says Peter Buckton Sony’s Marketing Services Manager.


Runners up will also have the chance to win thousands of dollars worth of Sony products.


The competition is open to all soccer fans from year 7 to 13 who are currently registered with a soccer club or school soccer team. Entrants must be passionate about soccer, outgoing and available to travel in July 2010.
