POLITICAL, SECURITY, HUMAN RIGHTS


Cukurova Hurriyet / Adana Mayor Aytac Durak was elected as a
board member of the World United Cities' and Local Governments'
Association.


Evrensel / In Van, Deniz Parlak was reportedly killed by Iranian
soldiers while trying to bring illegal diesel from the Iranian
Border Gate into Turkey.


Evrensel, Turkiye / In Nusaybin, Mardin, during a clash between
Turkish soldiers and the People's Defense Force, one member of
the People's Defense Force died.


Milli Gazete / In Lice, Diyarbakir province, two Turkish
soldiers died due to the landmines buried on the road by the
PKK/KONGRA-GEL members.


Ulkede Ozgur Gundem / Diyarbakir's ART TV was banned from
broadcasting for a month for broadcasting in Kurdish.


ECONOMIC


Bolge / Adana Chamber of Commerce Head Saban Bas offered to
establish partnership with the Adana Chamber of Industry headed
by Umit Ozgumus. "Let's join in under one name," stated Bas.
