POLITICAL, SECURITY, HUMAN RIGHTS


Turkiye, Zaman / In Adana an official funeral ceremony was
organized for Cumali Hakan, a policeman who was killed by
alleged terrorists in Pervari, Siirt province.


Ekspres, Ulkede Gundem / In Iskenderun, Hatay province, there
was an explosion in the industrial zone at Ekinciler iron and
steel factory. It is reported that Ekinciler accepts scrap iron
from Iraq and some explosives were found in the explosion area.


Ulkede Gundem / In Cizre, Sirnak province, police raided several
houses and detained six people, including the DEHAP district
head Huseyin Avsar.


Ulkede Gundem / In Yuksekova, Hakkari province people gathered
to condemn the torture by American soldiers of Iraqis.
Approximately 150 people attended the meeting.
