Mr. Kumanayake has been a leader in student union
activities throughout his years at the University of
Colombo. While involved in university activities, he
remained dedicated to helping organize student
activities in his home town and province. He has
organized many youth events in his home province for
young people to raise awareness on and increase
participation in democracy, good governance and human
rights activities. In April 2004 Mr. Kumanayake
concentrated on youth outreach for a successful
political campaign of a Sri Lankan MP. While Mr.
Kumanayake is preparing to complete his university
studies, he wants to enter politics and wants to build
his career by working with youth and student
organizations.
