Mr. Ziyaad is a key organized of the major Muslim political party
in Sri Lanka. A former educator and founder of a NGO aimed at
educational programs in war-affected areas of the country, Ziyaad
has extensive experience working in government. Through a course
of study on state and local governments in the U.S., ziyaad could
use ideas and elsons learned during the program in his work with
Sri Lanka's minority muslim community. Providing Mr. Ziyaad this
opportunity for training would cement his ties to the U.S. and
further our goal for better relations with the Muslim community.
His nomination has "full country team" approval.
