NAMES AND INFORMATION TO CLASS IN ACCORDANCE WITH VIPER
PROCEDURES:

2. SPANISH DAILY "EL PAIS" OF JUNE 30, 2004 REPORTED
THAT THE SPANISH NATIONAL POLICE ARRESTED SEMAAN GABY
EID ON JULY 28, 2004, FOR HIS ALLEGED PARTICIPATION IN
THE MADRID'S MARCH 11TH TERRORIST ATTACKS. POLICE
INVESTIGATION ON COMMUNICATIONS MADE TO AND FROM MOBILE
PHONES RELATED TO THE PERPETRATORS LED TO THE ARREST OF
SEMAAN GABY EID. ON MARCH 11, AFTER THE ATTACKS HE WAS
IN THE AREA OF THE HOUSE WHERE THEY PREPARED THE BOMBS,
AND LATER ON APRIL IN THE PROXIMITY OF THE APARTMENT IN
THE OUTSKIRTS OF MADRID WHERE SOME TERRORIST BLEW UP
THEMSELVES. AT THE TIME OF ARREST, HE WAS IN
POSSESSION OF FALSE IDENTIFICATION, A PORTUGUESE ID
CARD NUMBER 10127664 ISSUED LISBON AUG. 20, 1998 AND A
DRIVERS LICENSE, ALL UNDER THE NAME OF GABRIEL SELIM
AOUN, DPOB: MARCH 1, 1960, MOZAMBIQUE. POLICE LATER
SEARCHED HIS APARTMENT AND SEIZED SEVERAL MOBILE
PHONES, PHOTOCOPIES OF MOROCCAN IDENTITY DOCUMENTS,
SEVERAL PERSONAL CALENDARS AND DIVERSE DOCUMENTATION,
WHICH IS BEING ANALYZED. THE ARRESTED MAN HAS AN
EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL RECORD FOR DRUG TRAFFIC AND
PRESENTLY HAS A PENDING INDICTMENT FOR DRUG CHARGES.
INVESTIGATION SOURCES LINK THE ARRESTED WITH JAMAL
AHMIDAN, ABDENBI KOUNJAA, AND THE BROTHERS MOHAMED AND
RACHID AKCHA WHO DIED IN MADRID'S APARTMENT BLAST. HE
ALSO MAINTAINED CONTACTS WITH OTHERS IMPLICATED IN THE
TERRORIST ATTACKS, ABDELILLAH FAOUAL EL AKIL, PRESENTLY
IN DETENTION IN SPAIN, AND HICHAN AHMIDAN, WHO WAS
ARRESTED IN MOROCCO FOR TRAFFIC OF DRUGS AND STOLEN
LUXURY VEHICLES TO FINANCE THE PURCHASE OF THE
EXPLOSIVES USED IN THE ATTACKS.
