On March 10, Emboff delivered reftel points Eoin Duggan, UN
Desk for Terrorism and Illicit Drugs at the DFA. Duggan said
that the GOI is studying the UK proposal, but still prefers
to contribute via the United Nations Office on Drugs and
Crime (UNODC). He added that Ireland will increase funding
to the UNODC for counternarcotics programs in Afghanistan.
The amount of the increase has not yet been determined, but
Duggan expects it to rise from euro 500,000 to one million
per year.
