1. Poloff spoke with Jan Kaminek of the Human Rights
Department at the MFA regarding Czech plans for participation
in the Ministerial meeting of the Community of Democracies.
Although fostering global democracy has long been and
continues to be a priority for the Czechs, Kaminek said that
they have no specific plans for Czech initiatives at this
time. However, Kaminek noted that the Czech delegation will
have high-level representation, as it will be headed by the
MFA's First Deputy Minister, Jan Winkler. Minister Winkler
will chair the third panel, "Interregional Cooperation for
Democratic Governments."
