Whalen, Foreign Affairs Canada's Deputy Director for the
Middle East and North Africa. After reviewing the points,
Whalen reiterated Canada's support for the Iraqi transition
and said that the GOC planned to have Minister Pettigrew make
favorable comments welcoming the creation of the Iraqi
government at the earliest opportunity.
