1. LabOff conveyed reftel talking points urging support for
fiscal restraint on the ILO's proposed budget for 2006-2007
to Minister of Labor Galo Chiriboga on May 23. Chiriboga,
who will be traveling to Geneva for the ILO's International
Labor Conference on May 27, said he agreed that the proposed
budget should include cuts in the areas of travel and
personnel costs. However, he did not believe there should be
cuts in the training budget.
