(SBU) During an August 19 meeting to discuss reftel
invitation to President Bush's September 14 democracy event
in NY (which the Czech PM plans to attend; schedule details
septel), Czech MFA Director of UN Affairs Jan Kara told
Pol-Econ Chief that the GOCR is preparing to make a $50,000
contribution to the UN Democracy Fund. Kara said the goal is
to have the donation approved by the government prior to the
September High Level Event.
