1. (U) POL M/C made a strong pitch to secure Canadian
Political Director Jim Wright for the September 16 Meeting on
Columbia. Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts made it
impossible for him to be in New York on Friday.
2. (U) Canada, however, remains very interested in the future
of Columbia and will be represented at the meeting by their
acting Director General for Latin America, Christian
LaPointe.
