Post delivered reftel demarche November 14 to the New Zealand
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). Kristina Kirk,
of MFAT's United Nations and Commonwealth Division, reported
that New Zealand will support the U.S. candidacy for
re-election to the International Maritime Organization
Council in Category A. Kirk added that New Zealand would
stand for election to the Council in Category C in 2007 and
would appreciate the U.S. government's consideration and
support.
