Foreign Commercial Service delivered reftel demarche to
Ministry of Transport Deputy Director of Air Transport
Mr. William Yagomba on November 1, 2005. Mr. Yagomba,
who also was the leader of the Kenyan delegation to the
Cape Town Convention in 2001 indicated that the Minister
of Transport submitted a memorandum to the Kenyan
Cabinet Office urging ratification of the
Convention/Protocol about a month ago. He is confident
that the Kenyan Cabinet will approve ratification of the
Convention/Protocol. However, the Kenyan
administration's focus is currently on an upcoming
November 21 national referendum on a proposed new
constitution.
