1. (U) According to the National Institute of Sugar,
Mozambique's to date exports for FY 2006 are as follows:
2137 MTs shipped under the FY 2005 reallocation (MV Vamand
Wave, August 2005), 12,567 MTs shipped under the FY 2006 TRQ
(MV Vamand Wave, August 2005) and 5,000 MTs shipped under
the FY 2006 TRQ -Reallocation (MV Ocean Star, December
2005).

2. (U) Under the additional reallocation of February 21,
2006, Mozambique intends to ship its remaining allocation of
approximately 5,100 MTs in late June 2006. A vessel and
shipping date will be nominated before the end of the month.

3. (U) If there is an additional increase in the U.S. TRQ,
Mozambique could supply an additional 30,000 MT of raw sugar
by September 30, 2006. The Mozambican official responding
to this question emphasized that Mozambique would be pleased
to be able to ship more sugar this fiscal year to the United
States.
