Per reftel instruction, ESToff delivered USG points on the
Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty (FMCT) to MOFA Arms Control
and Disarmament Division Desk Officer Ayako Hashida on June
12, 2006. Hashida told ESToff that the points are
substantively identical to the USG statement at a May 2006
Conference on Disarmament meeting in Geneva; there has been
no change in Japan's position on the FMCT since that time.
