1. (SBU) Officials from Shell and the Dutch Mission
confirmed the release of Dutch hostage (reftel) Michael Llos
after five days of captivity. Llos is at Government House in
Yenegoa, Bayelsa State, whre he being assisted by a Dutch
Consular officer and representatives from his employer,
Westminster Dredging. Bayelsa State officials intervened to
secure his release. Shell officials believe Llos was held by
the Ughelli community near the border between Bayelsa and
Delta States.
