(S) On July 12, Ambassador presented to Nicaraguan Foreign
Minister Norman Caldera points (Ref. A) explaining why the
USG opposes Nicaragua's establishing full diplomatic
relations with the Palestinian Authority government (Ref. B).
Caldera assured Ambassador the GON will not appoint an
ambassador and will avoid contact with the Hamas-led
government.
