1. On August 2, Pol/C delivered the points and revised agreement
contained in reftel to Nguyen Huu Trang, Deputy Director General of
the MFA's Consular Department. Trang promised to review the revised
draft as quickly as possible and inform the Embassy if the GVN will
seek any further modifications. Provided the revised draft is
acceptable to the MFA, English and Vietnamese versions of the
document will have to reconciled and the Prime Minister will need to
give his final approval. "Nonetheless, we will try to get this done
as soon as possible," DDG Trang said.
