1. In response to reftel invitation, MFA Americas Bureau
PDAS-equivalent Jean-Marc Laforet told us September 14 that
France would be keenly interested in attending such a meeting.

2. On September 15, Laforet's office indicated that France
would be represented by IO Assistant Secretary equivalent
Sylvie Bermann. They were unable to provide a name for the
second participant in the one-plus-one meeting, but said it
would be someone from France's New York mission.
