1. Embassy is in receipt of a letter from the Office of the
Administrator of Tokelau at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and Trade, granting vessel clearance for the Ka'imimoana
during the period of October 5 - December 4, 2006. A copy of the
letter has been faxed to OES/OA. The text of the letter is as
follows:

2. Begin text:

"I refer to your letter of 15 August 2006 requesting a vessel
clearance for Tokelau waters for the 'Ka'imimoana' during the period
5 October 2006 - 4 December 2006.

Tokelau has considered the request and accepted it. Consent is
granted on the condition that New Zealand scientific representatives
and Tokelau officials have access to all data and samples collected,
and that research information is submitted after the conclusion of
the research voyage.

The vessel should also inform the Fisheries Communication Centre for
the New Zealand Ministry of Fisheries (fcc@fish.govt.nz) of the
position and times it enters and exits Tokelau's EEZ."
