(SBU) Pol/Econ Chief October 31 delivered reftel demarche to
encourage Bahraini participation at the November 7-8
biometrics conference in Jordan to MFA Director for Bilateral
Affairs Dhafer Al Umran. Al Umran was unaware of the
conference but agreed that it would be useful in promoting
cooperation among regional governments on the use of
biometric data. In a follow-up call, Jordanian Embassy DCM
Saed Al Radaideh told Pol/Econ Chief that the Bahraini
Ministry of Interior was sending a delegation of 3-4
officials to the conference.
