1. (U) Poloff passed to Department of Foreign Affairs
Director for Pacific Affairs Alan Deniega agenda items and
instructions regarding scheduling bilateral meetings
contained in reftel on October 10. Deniega confirmed that
Philippine Ambassador to New Zealand (with jurisdiction over
Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji) Bienvenido V. Tejano will lead a
three-man delegation to the Pacific Island Forum. Deniega
added that the GRP intends to offer training assistance to
Pacific Islands Forum member states in the field of
aquaculture.
