The GOM has requested U.S. support for its candidacy for
membership to the UN Commission for International Trade Law
(UNCITRAL) in the elections to be held during the 61st
General Assembly. The GOM specifies in a diplomatic note
dated August 31 that it is firmly committed to the
development, unification, and harmonization of international
trade law and has been an active participant in UNCITRAL
since its formation. A facsimile of this diplomatic note
will be forwarded to WHA/MEX.
