1. Pol/Econ Chief delivered subject demarche (talking points,
biodata, and diplomatic note) to MFA Deputy Director for the
Americas Abdel Rahman Sharfi on November 2.
2. Sharfi promised to refer the issue to the Department for
International Organizations, but was non-committal regarding a
likely position of the Sudanese Government. Post will inquire again
regarding the matter, and will report any substantive response
received.
