1. (SBU) On December 21, Charge Roland Bullen and acting
Consul General, Mike Schimmel, delivered demarche (ref A) to
Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso and his deputy, Jose
Manuel Trullols. Troncoso agreed with the points delivered
in the demarche and said that this issue has been long
overdue. Troncoso added that he would immediately talk to
President Fernandez about Dominican consular representation
in the United States.

2. (U) Embassy will monitor this issue closely and will
report any significant activities.
